Chupa - village in Republic of Karelia. Here we met nice crew of sailing boat named "Bravo" and started our 10 days trip.
Scientists of Zoological Institute of St.Petersburg work here. We made a walk around station to make these nice pictures.
Mussel plantations are on Son Island. Mussel are growing along the long rope that is going from the big black floating tube to the bottom of sea. The building that you can see on pictures was build about 100 years ago.
Trouts live in such a nice river. We didn't catch any. It was impossible to fish there for a long time because of huge crowds of mosquitos.
Cod fishing was very interesting. We were fishing from rocks and from boat at full sea. It's very easy to fish cod as well as uneateble small fish always coming with it.
|White Sea Rock Islands|
There are no two islands in White Sea look like each other. All islands are so different and so beutiful.
Our longest sea pass was over 11 hours. We used this time to take lessons of sailing, to enjoy nice pictures around and to sleep :)
Umba - village situated over Polar Circle, but we didn't feel it. Weather was very nice, only one day was raining.
|Hunchback Salmon Fishing|
Salmon fish are spawning the end of july and beginning of august. To fish spawning fish in river isn't hard, but it still requires special knowledge and good skills.
|Labirinth of Chupa|
Thousands of years ago ancient tribes of saams living in this area built this stone labirinth. Here is one of many labyrinths of White Sea.
